Context

After Terry Funk attacked Ric Flair post match (see last week), the two legends faced off in an I Quit match at Clash of Champions IX. The bout started out with hard-hitting chops before descending into an all out brawl as both men attempted to make each other quit. A physical and gritty match full of drama and storytelling. Both men really showed how it was done here and the ending is interesting. A masterclass in paying off a feud from two of the best to do it.

Jim Ross’s call of the match on commentary is still considered one of his finest performances.
